NEW YORK — Which hotel in the New York City area is the best bet to get the most bang for your buck?
Well, that depends on how much you can save, according to a report by travel site TripAdvisor.
In its latest rankings of the top 10 most-expensive hotels in the country, TripAdvisers found that New York’s Hilton Head hotel is the highest-priced, with a room rate of $1,737 per night.
But for those looking to spend less, the city’s two other top-rated hotels, the Sheraton New York and the Four Seasons, come in at $1.072 per night, and the Plaza Hotel at $966.
The average hotel in Las Vegas has a room rates of $852 per night in a three-day, seven-night stay, according the TripAdvisors data.
Hilton Head is in Brooklyn, New York, a city known for its upscale hotels, and its average room rate is $839 per night with two-night stays.
TripAdvisor also looked at the average cost of a night at the five top-ranked hotels in Miami, with the most expensive hotel in Miami topping the list at $3,092 per person per night for three-night trips.
While it might seem like you’re getting the best of both worlds, the real question is whether you’re going to spend more money at the hotels, or if the hotel is going to be a good value.
According to the report, hotels are the number one financial investment for a single traveler in the United States, and there are currently 4.2 million hotel rooms across the country.
